LEARN MICROSOFT WORD STEP BY STEP

Hello: This is our first in the coming tutorials on MS word. Enjoy!

Lesson 1: Working  with Documents (OFFICE 2007)

Navigating Documents
Moving Around in the Document
The insertion point indicates the location where Word will insert new text or pasted items. You can use either the
mouse or the keyboard to navigate to different parts of a document.
 To use the mouse to move the insertion point to a new location in the document, simply point to the desired
new location and click.
 Listed below are some keyboard methods to move quickly in a document.
Desired Movement Press Desired Movement Press
Next character Next line
Previous character Previous line
Next word + Next paragraph +
Previous word + Previous paragraph +
Beginning of line Next screen
End of line Previous screen
Beginning of document + Go to page +
End of document +
 When you have a multiple page document, you can use the vertical scroll bar to move or scroll the view of the
screen through the document from top-to-bottom and vice-versa.
 When the document is wider than the screen displays, use the horizontal scroll bar to move or scroll the view
from side-to-side, across the document.
When you drag the scroll box along the vertical scroll bar, a ScreenTip displays your position in the document. This
may be a page number or a heading text, depending on how your document is set up.
